Man found with “significant amount” of methamphetamine and fentanyl arrested for drug sale in Santa Clarita

A San Leandro man was arrested on drug charges Wednesday morning after being found with a “significant amount” of drugs and contraband in Santa Clarita.

At around 11:15 a.m., MPs received reports of a suspicious person in block 27900 of Kelley Johnson Parkway in Santa Clarita on Wednesday, Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Police Station, said.

After contacting the suspect in his car, MPs saw methamphetamine on display in the vehicle, according to Arriaga.

“A search has recovered a significant amount of Xanax, fentanyl and smuggled tablets for the sale of narcotics,” Arriaga said.

The findings led to the arrest of Nicholas Swyers, 24, of San Leandro on charges of criminal possession of narcotics for sale, according to Arriaga.

Swyers was arrested and taken to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on $ 0 bail, according to arrest records.
