Cheshire: A diamond ring and a large sum of money stolen during raids

The RAIDERS escaped with a diamond, designer handbags and a large sum of cash during two burglaries in Cheshire.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and video footage following the two break-ins in Sandiway, near Delamere Forest.

The first incident took place between 7.15pm and 7.40pm on Friday, when unidentified people forced their way into a house on the A556 Chester Road near Dalefords Lane traffic lights.

Once inside, they ransacked the property and stole a number of high value items including cash, designer handbags and a diamond ring.

Shortly after, at 7:42 p.m., a black Volkswagen Golf, parked in front of the Jade Buddha restaurant.

Three men, all dressed in dark clothing, got out of the car as the driver waited in the vehicle.

The trio made their way to the back of the premises and broke into the building.

Two of the men then stole a large amount of cash from an office, while the third man stood watch.

All the men then got back into the Volkswagen Golf and fled around 7:47 p.m.

The car then left the scene, it was then spotted heading towards Warrington on the A49.

Northwich CID Detective Constable Lara Hill said: ‘Investigations into these incidents are ongoing and we are committed to doing everything we can to identify those responsible for these incidents.

“Based on our initial investigations, we believe both burglaries were committed by the same offenders.

“The A556 is a busy road and as part of our investigation we want to hear from anyone who passed through the area between 7.15pm and 7.50pm and thinks they have witnessed anything suspicious or unusual.

“The same goes for anyone with dashcam footage.

“We would also like to hear from the driver of a white van that was spotted in the driveway of the house at the time of the break-in.

“The same is true of the occupants of a silver Range Rover who parked outside the restaurant at the time of the incident and may have seen the offenders fleeing the property.

“I urge anyone with any information, however small, to contact the team here in Northwich on 101 quoting IML 1410850.”
